From November through May the "Inlets Stitchers" meet every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the Inlets library. The group was started in 2006 and now has 22 members. We enjoy crocheting, knitting, sewing, embroidery and quilting. We welcome new members- beginners are welcome as well. Interested Contact Carla Beckmann.
In 2018 the Stitchers contemplated ideas for some gifts to the Inlets community, but found a need outside of the walls to aid. Sharon Greene was counseling at an area center and some of her clients needed extra covering when going outside, especially those in wheelchairs. The team got to work, primarily using scraps of stitching materials, to make Afghans resembling quilts for those in need. The results were taken to the center: a surprising number indeed! Ten throws of warm fabric and 5 quilts have been knitted or crocheted, sewn together, and trimmed, a number which should warm the limbs of our area neighbors. A giving group is happy to see their efforts appreciated.
